Great park for soccer and softball. Plenty of fields for many games, clean facilities, and decent restrooms. The only downfall is the parking lot configuration, it can get very crowded picking up kids after practice.

If you’re looking for a park in the northwest suburbs, look no further than Olympic Park. This 72-acre destination has soccer and softball fields, as well as basketball courts and a skate area. It’s the perfect place for families with kids who play sports.
The park is located in the Hoffman Estates area, with lots of apartments nearby. You can find a studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom apartments near the park. The average rent is around $989 for a studio apartment, while apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms will cost more.
The park is easy to get to from IL-72/Higgins Road. Simply head west on IL-72/Higgins and turn left onto Martingale Road. From there, continue to Old Schaumburg Road and turn right on Whitman Drive. You’ll be able to see the park from the street. The only drawback is that the parking lot can get crowded, but there are plenty of spaces for drop-off and pick-up. The facilities are clean and well-maintained.
A limited amount of pre-paid parking passes are available for single game and season ticket holders in the North Garage, South Lot B and McCormick Place 31st Street Lot E. Alcohol is not permitted in any lot, on parklands, or shuttles and tailgating (including party set-ups) is prohibited during games or after night games. Parking lots open four hours prior to kickoff and close two hours after the game ends.
This is a great soccer facility for the northwest suburbs. All the fields are field turf so there are some muddy spots after rain but they do a good job of keeping it up. They even have some fields that can be lit for night games, which is a nice feature.

Whether you need a quick bite or want to sit and enjoy a meal at a restaurant, there are several choices in Schaumburg. Both Olympic Park and Connelly and Atcher parks have food concession stands, but if you want to venture out there are many restaurants within minutes of the fields. Woodfield Mall is also a short drive away.
Seven-time Olympian Simone Biles is back in action locally this August when she will compete at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates as part of USA Gymnastics’ U.S. Classic tournament. She’ll be joined by 10 other top gymnasts, including two-time world champion Biles’ longtime friend and training partner, Kyla Ross. The event is scheduled to air on NBC. The event is free to the public.
Located south of Woodfield Mall, Olympic Park is a 72-acre sports complex with synthetic turf fields that are designed to be extra durable and host large tournaments. In addition to soccer and baseball fields, the park includes a playground, basketball courts, a skatepark, community garden plots, and a walking path.
Another fun activity for kids is attending Schaumburg Boomers baseball games. The Boomers are a minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and the stadium offers a number of family-friendly events throughout the year. Kids can enjoy watching the game from the stadium’s balcony, or they can sign up for a baseball camp over the summer to learn how to play the game.
The Park District of Schaumburg also operates a waterpark called Atcher Island, which is available to residents for a small daily fee or season passes are available for those who enjoy spending the day swimming and playing.
