Why see it in person

A deck is a big decision. You should get to feel it first.

You're going to live with your deck for decades. Choosing it from a 3-inch sample chip at the kitchen table leaves too much to guesswork, especially when colors shift in sunlight and every board feels different underfoot.

Walking the showroom takes the guesswork out, so you can choose with confidence and love the result the day it's finished.

  • Feel which boards stay cooler and which feel most like real wood
  • See true colors in daylight instead of on a screen
  • Compare grip and texture if you have a pool, hot tub, kids or pets
  • Picture the whole outdoor room: deck, railing, lighting, cover, fire and kitchen
  • Get straight answers from the people who design it and the in-house crews who build it

Showroom FAQ

Questions before you visit

Do I need an appointment to visit the showroom?

You're welcome to stop by during open hours, Tuesday through Saturday. If you're planning a deck, porch, pergola or outdoor kitchen, we recommend booking a visit so a designer is set aside just for your project. Mondays are by appointment only.

How long does a showroom design visit take?

Most design visits take about an hour. That gives you time to compare decking and railing, talk through how you want to use the space and sketch out a rough layout together.

What should I bring to my visit?

Bring photos of your backyard and the back of your home, a plat of survey if you have one, any HOA guidelines and pictures of decks or porches you love. Rough measurements help too, but we'll take exact ones at your home.

Can I get pricing at the showroom?

Yes. We'll walk through ballpark pricing for the materials and features you like so you can plan your budget. Your final proposal comes after we measure and design on site.

What decking brands can I see in person?

You can compare TimberTech and AZEK composite and PVC decking, Deckorators Voyage, and EvaLast side by side, along with glass, cable, aluminum and composite railing and Tru-Scapes lighting.

Can I buy grills, fire features and furniture at the showroom?

Yes. Grills, outdoor kitchen components, fire tables, heaters, outdoor TVs and furniture are available through All Things Backyard & Outdoor Living, right in the same showroom.

Who builds my project after I visit?

Our own in-house crews do all of the building. The team that helps you plan is the same company that builds it, from the framing to the final walkthrough. For specialty trades like electrical, plumbing, excavation and concrete, we work with trusted partners we've built long-standing relationships with.

What areas do you serve?

We design and build decks, porches and outdoor living spaces throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, including McHenry, Lake, Kane and northwest Cook counties.

See it, feel it, then build it.

Your designer and our full showroom are ready when you are.
